At the request of our board of directors' Canadian Issues task force, the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) is pleased to offer a new list serv where interested parties can conduct an online dialogue concerning child welfare issues in Canada. The list serv is open to anyone interested in or involved in Canadian child welfare—including U.S. citizens and interested parties outside the U.S. and Canada. Again, the purpose of the list serv is to facilitate constructive conversations about Canadian child welfare issues. Ultimately, the Canadian Issues task force hopes to collect enough information to develop a position paper that will inspire some positive changes for Canada's waiting children and the families who care for them. As happens with most list servs, the volume of e-mails will ebb and flow depending on the participation of list serv subscribers. Sometimes the list will be completely inactive. Hopefully, over time, we can establish a ongoing dialogue about provincial and country-wide issues, share information about what has worked in other provinces or states, and work to find ways to improve services for children and families.
